3 Top Pick Kolo Mee & Sarawak Laksa by Sarawakians in Singapore. National Day Lucky Draw by STATOS

Sarawak_LaksaAs there is a sizeable Sarawakian community in Singapore, we can get authentic Sarawak cuisine here. I checked out 3 popular Sarawak food stalls for kolo mee and Sarawak laksa picked by Sarawakians in Singapore. TASTE OF SARAWAK NATIONAL DAY LUCKY DRAW From today (3 Aug) till 9 Aug, these 3 stalls are celebrating Singapore National Day with a lucky draw organised by Sarawak Trade and Tourism Co. Pte. Ltd. (STATOS) with prizes of up to $1,000 Sheng Siong shopping vouchers. Sarawak_Kolo_Mee Sarawak Kolo Mee is a comfort dish, a staple that is synonymous with Sarawak. It's a mound of egg noodles in a blended sauce of lard, aromatic shallot oil, and soy sauce topped with sauteed minced pork, stewed-type char siew slices, fried shallot and chopped spring onion. The dish comes with a clear pork soup and optional chili sauce.

Sarawak_Kolo_Mee I like Lin Yu Mei's kolo mee because the curly noodles have their own tender springy crunch in a way different from wanton mee or ramen. Lin Yu Mei's savoury lardy sauce gets a sharp zingy spicy spike from their house made chili sauce which made their rendition of kolo mee stand out.

The mound of curly noodles in JJ Sarawak Noodles rendition of kolo mee come fully hidden under the carpet of minced pork, char siew slices and fried wanton.

Sarawak_Kolo_Mee If you are looking for a crunchy kolo mee with robust savoury lardy sauce (like me), then JJ Sarawak Noodles version is for you (and me 😄 ).

Sarawak_Laksa If you are a curry laksa fan, then you have to try the Sarawak version of this spicy dish. Same same laksa in name but the selection of spices and resulting taste profile is very different yet very easy to like. Must try lah.

Sarawak_Laksa

Sarawak Delicacy Laksa & Kolo Mee stall @ Bedok Blk 204 coffee shop serves a delicious Sarawak laksa. It is bee hoon (rice vermicelli) in a bowl of fiery looking spiced coconut milk. The coconut milk has just the right richness and taste which are saturated with well balanced, complementary savoury sweet and spicy spice flavours and aromas. Eat the laksa with Sarawak belacan which add robust crustacean umami flavour to balance the coconut milk sweetness in the curry. Try the kolo mee and Sarawak laksa at these 3 food stalls which are curated by Sarawakians as among the best in Singapore serving the taste of Sarawak.

This TASTE OF SARAWAK lucky draw is organised by Sarawak Trade and Tourism Co. Pte. Ltd. (STATOS) which is founded in August 2019 to create links for trade, investment and tourism between Sarawak and Singapore. STATOS is conveniently located at 80 Robinson Road in the central business district of Singapore.

AirAsia

Air Asia and Scoot have direct flights to Kuching and Miri in Sarawak. I've been to both Kuching and Miri - there are so many things about Sarawak that I miss. The people, cultures, its natural beauty, and of course, amazing unique food. I started with kolo mee but there is so much more for me to explore 👈 click I am looking forward to visiting Sarawak again when flights are resumed soon. Singapore and Sarawak are just 1 hour away by air. Meanwhile, get a TASTE OF SARAWAK and I wish you good luck with the lucky draw 😄
