林玉梅 Lin Yu Mei Kolo Mee | 14 Haig Road Food Centre #01-33 Singapore S430014
I like Lin Yu Mei's kolo mee because the curly noodles have their own tender springy crunch in a way different from wanton mee or ramen. Lin Yu Mei's savoury lardy sauce gets a sharp zingy spicy spike from their house made chili sauce which made their rendition of kolo mee stand out.
JJ Sarawak Noodles | Blk 504 Jurong West St. 51 Singapore S640504
The mound of curly noodles in JJ Sarawak Noodles rendition of kolo mee come fully hidden under the carpet of minced pork, char siew slices and fried wanton.
If you are looking for a crunchy kolo mee with robust savoury lardy sauce (like me), then JJ Sarawak Noodles version is for you (and me 😄 ).
If you are a curry laksa fan, then you have to try the Sarawak version of this spicy dish. Same same laksa in name but the selection of spices and resulting taste profile is very different yet very easy to like. Must try lah.
Sarawak Delicacy Laksa & Kolo Mee | Blk 204 Bedok North Street 1 #01-435, Singapore S460204
Sarawak Delicacy Laksa & Kolo Mee stall @ Bedok Blk 204 coffee shop serves a delicious Sarawak laksa. It is bee hoon (rice vermicelli) in a bowl of fiery looking spiced coconut milk. The coconut milk has just the right richness and taste which are saturated with well balanced, complementary savoury sweet and spicy spice flavours and aromas. Eat the laksa with Sarawak belacan which add robust crustacean umami flavour to balance the coconut milk sweetness in the curry.
