I checked out 3 popular Sarawak food stalls for kolo mee and Sarawak laksa picked by Sarawakians in Singapore. TASTE OF SARAWAK NATIONAL DAY LUCKY DRAW From today (3 Aug) till 9 Aug, these 3 stalls are celebrating Singapore National Day with a lucky draw organised by Sarawak Trade and Tourism Co. Pte. Ltd. (STATOS) with prizes of up to $1,000 Sheng Siong shopping vouchers. 
Sarawak Kolo Mee is a comfort dish, a staple that is synonymous with Sarawak. It's a mound of egg noodles in a blended sauce of lard, aromatic shallot oil, and soy sauce topped with sauteed minced pork, stewed-type char siew slices, fried shallot and chopped spring onion. The dish comes with a clear pork soup and optional chili sauce.

I like Lin Yu Mei's kolo mee because the curly noodles have their own tender springy crunch in a way different from wanton mee or ramen. Lin Yu Mei's savoury lardy sauce gets a sharp zingy spicy spike from their house made chili sauce which made their rendition of kolo mee stand out.

If you are a curry laksa fan, then you have to try the Sarawak version of this spicy dish. Same same laksa in name but the selection of spices and resulting taste profile is very different yet very easy to like. Must try lah.

The people, cultures, its natural beauty, and of course, amazing unique food.
